Both are equipped with a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2412 pixels (Full HD+), a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1200 nits. However, there are differences in the protective glass: the global version is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i for the OPPO Reno12 5G and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for the OPPO Reno12 Pro 5G. Meanwhile, OPPO did not announce the type of Gorilla Glass used for the China version. Additionally, the OPPO Reno12 5G global version has curves only on the left and right sides, while the China version and the OPPO Reno12 Pro 5G global version have curves on all four sides.
The OPPO Reno12 series for the global market uses a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, paired with 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and two internal storage options: 256GB and 512GB UFS 3.1. This processor was released in May 2024 and is designed to provide efficient performance.
In contrast, the OPPO Reno12 series for the Chinese market uses two different types of MediaTek processors. The OPPO Reno12 5G is powered by the Dimensity 8250, while the OPPO Reno12 Pro 5G uses the Dimensity 9200+, which was released in May 2023. In addition, the units for the Chinese market use newer LPDDR5X RAM and are available in more capacity variants: 12/256GB, 12/512GB, 16/256GB, and 16/512GB. However, there is no support for a microSD card in the China version.
The global version of the OPPO Reno12 series has a slightly different camera configuration. The OPPO Reno12 5G and Reno12 Pro 5G global versions have three rear cameras: a 50MP main camera with a Sony LYT-600 sensor and OIS, an 8MP ultrawide camera with a Sony IMX355 sensor, and a 50MP telephoto camera with a Samsung JN5 sensor. The front camera also has different resolutions: 32MP for the OPPO Reno12 5G and 50MP for the OPPO Reno12 Pro 5G.
Meanwhile, the China version of the OPPO Reno12 series has three 50MP cameras, including the front camera. The rear cameras consist of a 50MP main camera with a Sony IMX890 sensor for the OPPO Reno12 Pro 5G and a Sony LYT-600 for the OPPO Reno12 5G, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MP telephoto camera. The front camera also has a 50MP resolution with a Samsung JN5 sensor.
Another difference between the two versions lies in the speaker configuration. The OPPO Reno12 5G global version and the OPPO Reno12 Pro 5G have stereo speakers, while the OPPO Reno12 5G China version only has a mono speaker. Both versions of the OPPO Reno12 Pro 5G, both in China and globally, have stereo speakers, providing a more immersive audio experience.
Despite some significant differences, the OPPO Reno12 series for the China and global markets still share some similarities. Both are equipped with a 5000 mAh battery with 80W fast charging support. Both are also waterproof and splash-resistant with IP65 certification and are equipped with an in-screen fingerprint scanner and a face scanner integrated in the selfie camera. The operating system running is Android 14 with the latest ColorOS 14 interface.
