The Poco X6 Pro 5G has just been launched in Indonesia, bringing Xiaomi’s latest operating system, HyperOS. So, what are the advantages of this operating system?
Poco Indonesia’s Product Marketing Manager, Jeksen, revealed that HyperOS on the Poco X6 Pro 5G focuses on three main things to improve and maintain the phone’s performance in the long run.
“There’s a massive improvement that focuses on one thing: smooth, or we can run it smoothly,” said Jeksen at the launch of three new Poco products in Jakarta, Thursday (1/2/2024).
HyperOS is smaller in size compared to MIUI 14, which is currently available on Poco and Xiaomi phones. This smaller size allows HyperOS to use less storage space.
“MIUI 14 Poco takes up about 11GB of space, which is already very good. But in reality, some competitor’s smartphone systems use up to 20GB,” explained Jeksen. “Poco wants to offer more space with Xiaomi HyperOS on the Poco X6 Pro 5G. We only use around 8GB during the initial setup,” he continued.
In addition, HyperOS on the Poco X6 Pro 5G also has a feature that can detect and automatically clean cache and junk files. This feature ensures that the Poco X6 Pro’s performance remains as smooth as when it was first used.
HyperOS also has scheduling and prioritization capabilities on the chipset. This operating system can analyze applications that users frequently use and ensure that these applications can be accessed efficiently.
Of the three phones launched by Poco today, only the Poco X6 Pro 5G runs HyperOS out of the box. Poco Indonesia’s Product PR Manager, Abee Hakim, confirmed that the Poco X6 5G and Poco M6 Pro will also get HyperOS updates.
“We haven’t announced the timeline for when the latest series that don’t yet use Xiaomi HyperOS will be updated. But what’s certain is that these latest products will definitely be prioritized, starting from the flagship products to the derivatives below,” said Abee.
